We actually had a lot of friends running this year. Here are just a few:
Joy & Spencer: Can I just tell you how proud I am of Joy!!!! Alright, Spencer, you did pretty good too. This was a first for both of them, doing the 1/2 marathon. They rocked it!!! 2:12 or something close to that. Way to go Joy! See, I told you that you would do a great job.
Jared: Oh my friend! I am so proud of him and excited for him. He got his personal best with 3:12 for the full marathon. I was convinced that Jared qualified for the Boston Marathon, a personal goal of his. Unfortunately, Jared came in 2 minutes short of qualifying. When a man runs as fast as Jared was running, I don't know how they couldn't qualify for Boston but I am not a racing official. St George is your race my friend!!!!
Other friends: Amy ran the half in 2:09, Katie ran the full but I don't have her time yet, and Kari's dad (I love Kari's parents!) ran the full in something like 4:40.
I have to give a HUGE shout out to my dad for all his help today. He drove from South Salt Lake early in the morning, drove all of us to the race, stayed with me the entire time, cheered on all of my friends, and helped me with the kids! What more could a girl ask for on Ogden Marathon day! Also, thanks Jonny for watching Jeffrey! Poor kid roasts in the sun, and it gets really bad fast so Jonny watched him for me. AND thanks for Thursday, bring on the Brazilian rock music anytime little brother!

Good job James, I didn't realize that what your personal best. Congrats. Thanks for conning me into running. I had a blast training and then racing yesterday, and I've already started looked into running more races next year.
Spot on! This post pumps me up for my upcoming events. I am trying to convince myself to run Park City on August 22, since we will be down. I am a bit concerned about training at sea level and then jumping to almost 7,000 feet. You are inspiring James, great time as well. I look forward to running with you in the future. It has been too long since our early jaunts on the slopes of the northern Wasatch.
Congrats James, you looked pretty sexy in you running gear. I was having a hard time containing myself. I am thinking of trying it next year as well. We will see.
Oh man James! Your awesome, but I so don't envy you at all!!! (That's a lie! I actually do, just not enough to actually do anything about it;) Good job! Love ya!
