I have to tell all my friends and family thank you so much for such a great birthday! It was a lot of fun. I should start by saying that it really wasn't a birthday, it was more like a birthday weekend celebration. On Friday, we all went to Logan's soccer game where Logan did a great job of scoring one goal and stopping a tough team. The end score was 1-1. Can anyone tell me why they don't do overtime in soccer? It seems silly to end things this way.....Anyway....then we went to one of my favorite restraunts for dinner. It was a lot of fun.
Saturday was great! Jackson played in a soccer game and was a little trooper playing in the cold weather. It's fun to watch these young boys play. Their hearts are in it 110% but their bodies can't keep up with their minds. That night, we had a few friends come over for a murder mystery party. Honkytonk Homicide! It was so much fun and everyone put a lot of effort into dressing their parts. What's even more funny is, here we are: Executive Secretary in the stake, Executive Secretary in the ward, Stake Primary 1st counselor, Ward Mission Leader, 1st counselor in the Bishopric, YM President and who happens to just stop by, one of our missionaries who is being transferred. I think he was shocked and thought he had just walked into Satan's den for awhile...It was so funny! We had a great time. Here's the pics:
As you can tell by a few of the pictures, I wasn't too keen on having my picture taken but it was a lot of fun!
On Sunday, Marcie & kids, my family, and mom all had tempura for dinner. While we were cleaning up, hot oil exploded all over moms kitchen. We felt so bad! After cleaning up mom had invited the Woolley's & Ericksen's over for cake and ice cream. It was a lot of fun. Also, at church, Lisa, Dawn, Amber, & Lyndsay surprised me with a gift certificate to Hobby Lobby and brownies for not only me but all the girls. It was very nice and sweet of them. I am so blessed to be surrounded by so many good people!!
The only bad part of the weekend was the fact that my stepgrandfather passed away on my birthday. He was an incredible man who spent his life serving and protecting the people of Salt Lake County in various police officer positions. He had a massive stroke on Friday morning and never could overcome the damage that had been done. He was surrounded by his family and I know he went peacefully. He will be missed......We love you Bill!
