I am going to take this week by week and hopefully it won't take forever! I feel bad that we haven't updated this in a long time but everyone gets busy so you will have to bear with it and know that I will try to do better.
When we left off, things were just getting crazy around here. In the first week of May, James' Grandma Ginger passed away. It really was a great blessing because her body was shutting down and I am sure that the pain was unbearable. We are excited for her to be reunited with so many of her good friends and family members again and we know she is truly in a better place.
We drove down to AZ with Jared and it was a fun road trip! We stopped for the night in Vegas and stayed with Courtney. After traveling in the car with us for that many hours I know that Jareds opinion of my "shy and reserved" children has changed. We stopped for two minutes at Hoover dam which kept James & Jared talking for quite sometime after we passed.
We got to AZ just in time for the viewing. I know that a lot of people say that there is no one that looks good in a coffin but honestly, she did look really great. After the viewing, we stayed with James' cousins Heather & Larry.
I love visiting with these cousins!!! They are so much fun and we all get along really well. The kids love each other and the adults (if that's what you want to call us) can and do talk for hours. We had a great time catching up with all of them since James hasn't seen them since Christmas and it had been 2 years for me.
The funeral was on Saturday and it was a lovely service. And after they dedicated the grave, I had the opportunity to go and visit the gravesite of Hunter, James' cousins little boy who passed away last Christmas. They had just put in the headstone. My heart just ached with the hurt that I know his parents must be feeling but the only saving grace was that I knew that they would be together again.
