Jacksons Birthday Weekend.....

Jackson had the ultimate in birthday weekends. It all started on Friday when we were able to go with our good friends, the Woolleys, on a camping trip to South Fork. My friend Becky was amazing and brought candles, decorations, and a present for Jackson and surprised him with them! You should have seen the grin on his face! We made the best dutch oven cake and he was on cloud nine. Jackson loves camping and now thinks that we need to go every year for his birthday. I guess we will since we love camping as a family as well. On Saturday, James took Jackson to the store and let him pick out any present he wanted. He picked out a Superman fishing pole and promptly told James that he wanted to go fishing with Grandpa West and Daddy as part of his birthday present. He has been hauling that fishing pole around since then. I can't tell you how many times I have been hit by the rubber fish that is attached to the line. That night, Steve Woolley took James

to one of the playoff games for the Jazz. They had a blast and James couldn't help but have me call Grandma and let her know that he was going to be there. Grandma told James to yell at Jerry Sloan for her because she doesn't think he is doing a very good job. We love Grandma!!!! On Monday, we woke up early because James and Becky Woolley ran in a 5K in Syracuse. James hadn't run since the marathon and was a little sore. The big news of that race was that Becky won James. Yes, a girl beat him. Tom, we both know you are laughing. Anyway, then Julie, Jackson and Natalie all ran in a Kids K. They were all so excited and did great! They got a shirt and medal which they are so proud of. I think that Jackson has caught the fever of running and that scares me, just kidding, it would be a great hobby for him to get interested in. That night, Jackson opened all of his other presents including a Spiderman web shooter, clothes, a sleeping bag, and Mario Super Strikers. He had a great birthday weekend.
