Who Knew!!!!

Court, Joe and Camri are in town for the air show this weekend. Of course, Joe is working but he did a special favor for my kids that I am sure they will remember for the rest of their lives. He and 3 of his co-workers got together and came to the kids school and did an assembly. They talked about their jobs with the Thunderbirds, showed a movie, had a quiz portion where the winners got Thunderbird pins, and had a tug of war with 20 students. I was so impressed!!!! Who knew we had a celebrity in the family? These men handled all the chaos that comes with dealing with elementary students with such ease. The tug of war came as a result of Joe wanting to show the kids that it is important to stay in shape if you want to have a career in the armed forces. These poor men, they didn't stand a chance. They were dressed in their dress shoes and on the gym floor, they just starting sliding. A few of the teachers even jumped in to help and still, the kids won. Then these truly brave men went and did the unthinkable, they ate school lunch with the kids. They had their choice of a corn dog or a tuna sandwich, yummy! While eating their lunch with the kids, I bet over 90% of the kids came and got autographs from all four of these men. It was hilarious!!!! They signed shoes, paper, wrists, pants, and arms and you would have thought that they were the biggest movie stars on the planet! One girl even started crying with happiness when she asked Joe to flex his bicep and he did it. Courtney and I couldn't stop laughing. Joe also brought special coloring books for Julie and Jacksons class. Jacksons teacher, our beloved VR, came out to talk to us for a minute and told Joe how important it was that he and his 3 friends came and showed such respect, to the kids and the staff at the school. A lot of the kids in their school don't have that kind of influence at home and to give them that example was so incredibly important and they did a marvelous job. I couldn't agree more. I was so proud of my little brother! It was a great way to end the last day of school. That's right, Jackson is now in 2nd grade, Julie in 3rd and Jeffrey is going to HIGH SCHOOL!

Thanks Coach Joe....We love you!

That is cool that Joe went and did that. I don't him very well, but the few times I have been able to talk, and spend time with him, he is a fun, and honrable man. What a fun day it appeared to be
