3....2....1....Blast Off!

So these last few weeks have been tough on me. It seemed like my knee wasn't healing as fast as I wanted and expected it to....I don't have the time or desire to lay around in bed for a couple of weeks. Plus, Julie and Jackson are off track and I try to have "adventures" set up for them while they are home. This time, we have been pretty much housebound. Then, to top it all off, I got strep. Yes, I am a joy to be around right now...So to help pull me through this murky attitude I called on my Dad & Kaye for help. I asked them to help me come up with an adventure for the kids and they pulled through. We visited the Clark Planetarium and I have to say, I was truly impressed! If you haven't had the chance to go there, I would highly recommend it! Anyone else remember these toys...This was the most slippery one of these I have ever seen! Jackson could not keep it in his hands, it was hilarious!

Kaye was pointing to the rotating globe and asking Julie where certain places were. Remember, my husband makes maps for a living and LOVES it so it would only be natural for my daughter to know where certain countries are, right? She pointed to Africa and said it was North America....so close, yet so far! (She is watching me type this and says she knows the difference now!)

Here are the kids "walking on the surface of the moon".

They also had solar system exhibits, computers with questions about the planets, and a weather exhibit from KSL. Then, off we went to see "Under the Sea" in 3-D on the IMAX screen.

It was a great show narrated by Jim Carrey. It was only 45 minutes long so it held the kids' attention the entire time. The kids came home and talked to James for 2 hours about all the different sea life they learned about. (He was SO jealous and really was sad he missed it!) We talked about cuttlefish, sea snakes, clown jellyfish, sea lions, and so much more. We had a great time and it was just what I needed at that time.

Thanks for the adventure Grandpa West and Grandma Kaye! Next time, we get to buy the popcorn!
*Just a little sidenote. Jeffrey got his report card today and we were so excited. Jeffrey got an A+ in seminary. Not just an A, an A+! (He does always win on the scripture chases we have for FHE.) James and I were thrilled when we pulled the paper out of his backpack. Good job Jeffers!!!
