Forget Thanksgiving....My husband wants it to be Christmas!

Before I start in on how excited James is for Christmas, I thought I would let you know that Julie just played in her lastest piano recital with Grandma McBride. She and Julie played a duet of the Overature from, The Nutcracker, and both did a fantastic job! Way to go Goose!

Alright, so last week James had a bee in his bonnet (or cap, choose your preference) and decided he wanted to get the Christmas lights up. He worked like a race horse this day and got so much done, including the lights. While he was on the roof, he let Julie & Jackson get up there with him. He put them in a secure place on the roof and they were not in danger at anytime but that didn't stop some of our friends from calling and telling me that I was crazy to let my most prized possesions on our roof. I have to say, Jackson loved every minute of it and would probably like to do somersaults up there if we let him. He was safe so those of you who disagree, just don't let your own kids on the roof! :)

James wasn't satisified with just that, he had to put up all of our Christmas decorations as well. So here we are, skipping Thanksgiving and heading straight for Christmas! My theory is that since we weren't able to put up anything but our tree last year (we moved in the middle of December), James is making up for it this year. It cracks me up how much my husband enjoys this holiday. He is just as excited as the kids for all the festivities! It's not hard to love such a great guy. Last Saturday, we had a boutique at my house. (Thanks for all the support, my friends and family are amazing!) In the middle of the day, Jackson comes out to the garage and says,"Hey mom, I have something to show you." He opens his mouth and blood in all over in his teeth and his bottom tooth is missing. His first lost tooth! We all started cheering and clapping for him until he then said,"Mom, I think I swallowed it! I was eating a pretzel and now it is gone." Sure enough. The tooth now resides in my sons' stomach until it makes an unpleasant return. Fortunately, the tooth fairy and I are friends so I was able to call her and let her know what happened and she came through, just like she always does! :) I am subbing this week and I have to say, I really do love these kids. They say the funniest and sweetest things. Plus, they teach me a lot. I am subbing in Jacksons class and I love being with kids that I am familiar with and know that they know all my "rules". Today was the Indian Pow Wow and we had a great time. James came and helped, along with my great friend Dawn. I could not have done it without them. The kids learned all sorts of things from making butter, making Indian Drums, and learning how the Indians ground corn to make corn meal (James taught and demonstrated this and did awesome!). And last but not least, here are my silly kids doing some random dancing. They insisted that I put this on here so watch and laugh. (I am dedicating this to you Steve, reminds me of some of your signature moves!)

Congrats Jackson on the tooth, we loved the video of the kids dancing. Also tell James the lights look great. I drove by last night and thought wow they are on the ball.

I think it is cool that you guys let the kids get up there with James! They are both smart kids and would stay safe. The video was also VERY rad! Well done Julie and Jackson.

I have finally had a chance to check out your blog. I have to admit your kids can cut some serious rug. The "stationary wiggly worm" is a classic, only shadowed by the "Heber Creeper". I have had to invent some new moves over the last few years, and I must admit the new moves are some of my greatest achievments. I should probably unveil them on "So You Think You Can Dance". Maybe when I am done with school. I have to agree with James on the awesomeness of X-mas. It is a brilliant holiday. I look forward to owning a home in which I can deck out with 500,000 twinkle lights, and cause small scale power shortages accross the grid. Vye and I have been discussing your yearly holiday treat plate. I don't know if we can live without it. I was hoping you could personally deliver the goods, but in the off-chance that it is too difficult, we at least need your recipes and perhaps some pointers on how to make your most delicious holiday delectibles.
