Rewards, Parties, Recitals & Misery!

I know I posted after Jackson's birthday last time but I wanted to show everyone some of his party pictures. He had a great time and loved all of his presents. He is a huge Ben 10 fan and the people at the local bakery made his cake and drew the graphic by hand. It was awesome!

Julie had her piano recital with Grandma McBride where she played Grandfather Clock. For some reason, she can play this song flawlessly at home but that night she had a rough time. She will nail it next time I am sure!

Julie also had her ballet recital this week. She did amazingly well! We were so proud of our little "Wild Fire"! When I asked her how come she did so well, she simply answered, "I listened to the music." I guess that is the secret to doing what you are supposed to be doing instead of watching all the other little girls around you.....Go figure!

James is running in the Wasatch Back Relay race with a combined ultra team this weekend. In fact, as I type this he should be stretching for his second leg of the race. Most teams run this with 12 people. Not James and his friend Tom (the friend who started this crazy notion that running was fun!). They do this with a 3 men, 3 women team. Each person runs varying lengths of legs. James' are all around 10 miles. The race started Friday and is 170 miles long! His first leg was at 3pm and it was HOT, but he finished even though he didn't feel well. His next leg is from midnight to 2am, and then again at 10am tomorrow. I think that the words crazy and MISERY seem to fit this extremely well!

While James is running, I took part in a reward for a Bishops challenge to the youth in our area to read the Book of Mormon in 5 months. For doing this, we took them on an overnight camping trip to a really fun place in Idaho. Check out the pictures of the 400 foot zipline and 400 foot waterslide to see what I mean. Good job youth! We are proud of you!

PS Thanks Woolley, Bishop (present & past), Kari, Lyndsay & Parry for your help! Also, just a heads up.....Jackson tried Caffiene Free Mountain Dew at Julies recital...He drank the whole can in under 5 minutes and wanted another one. I am scared.......
